My name is Monica Mau and I am currently a junior at the Shidler College of Business, majoring in Management Information Systems, Finance, and International Business. I will be studying abroad in Seoul, South Korea at Yonsei University during the Spring 2024 semester.

I was inspired to study abroad in Korea by my love for kpop, kdramas, shopping, and Korean food. My favorite kpop groups are SHINee and EXO, and my favorite kdramas are Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Hotel del Luna (what do these have in common lol).  

 

I do not, in fact, speak any Korean, but I plan to take a beginner Korean course at Yonsei and also self-study to attempt to learn some Hangul (the Korean alphabet). I am so excited to explore all the amazing things Korea has to offer throughout the next four months, and fully immerse myself in this rich and storied culture.
