To apply for a D2 student visa to Korea, you will need to go down to the Korean consulate in Nu’uanu (or if you’re from the mainland then wherever your closest consulate is). No appointment is necessary but depending how busy it is, you may need to wait outside.
Make sure to have all of these documents printed out and ready to show once you arrive.
Visa application form - fill this out in advance

For Yonsei, you need to show at least $4,000 of capacity
Bank statements that go back 3 months - this must be the most recent three months going back from the time you go to the consulate
Can also show a scholarship letter totaling this amount (i.e Freeman Scholarship) but it must be SEALED directly from the UH office (have to request this separately)
University official transcript
Must be SEALED
Birth certificate
$45 cash
Additional paper copies of your passport, driver’s license/ID, & birth certificate
If your application is successful, they will give you a paper with instructions on how to check the status of your visa application. Once your visa is issued, you will be able to download a PDF copy of the confirmation page. You will not need to show this upon departure or arrival in Korea, but I recommend printing it out just in case.
Note: Unless you go to the embassy in like Washington, DC or something, your visa will likely only be single entry. This means that until you receive your Alien Registration Card, you will not be able to leave the country without invalidating your student visa.
